Next to The Global City, an additional section of the TP.HCM - Long Thành Expressway is being connected
Adjacent to The Global City urban area, the dual highway infrastructure project spanning 2.7 km on the TP HCM - Long Thành expressway will be opened by the end of July to alleviate congestion during the construction of the An Phú interchange.

The expected stretch for the opening extends from Nguyen Thi Dinh Street to Do Xuan Hop Street, Thu Duc City. Currently, the mentioned road section has been essentially completed with asphalt pavement. The contractor is currently painting road markings, sidewalks, and finalizing the lighting system.
"The opening of this road section will help alleviate congestion, as this is an area with a very high volume of vehicles, while the construction site of the An Phu interchange project at the starting point of the route is about to be carried out simultaneously, so the situation is predicted to be tense," Mr. Duc stated and noted that the remaining over 600 meters of the dual highway project cannot be completed due to land acquisition issues.
The TP HCM - Long Thanh - Dau Giay dual highway stretches over 3.3 km and commenced in 2017 under a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) contract with a budget of 869 billion VND. The project consists of two parallel sections constructed on the right side of the highway, each 20 meters wide with 4 lanes.
Within this, the first section spans 2.7 km, connecting Mai Chi Tho Boulevard to Do Xuan Hop Street. The remaining segment is slightly over 600 meters, linking Route D11 to the Second Beltway. Along the road route, there are three bridges: Ba Dat Bridge, Muong Kenh Bridge, and Ba Hien Bridge.
Construction workers are working on the bridge railing within the project scope on the afternoon of July 24th.
The project is expected to be completed after 24 months, contributing to alleviating traffic pressure at the An Phu interchange and expediting the investment progress of projects serving the resettlement for the new Thủ Thiêm urban area. However, the project has encountered delays due to land acquisition issues as well as payment procedures under the BOT contract.
In April, following an on-site inspection, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned relevant departments and units to collaborate with Nguyen Phuong Real Estate Company (the investor) to implement project adjustments and facilitate land clearance for the early completion of the construction.
